New GSMA report highlights how AI, digital services and mobile connectivity are driving economic growth across Africa, while affordability remains a key barrier to digital inclusion 

LONDON, June 16, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Mobile technologies and services contributed $240 billion to Africa’s economy in 2025, equivalent to 7.8% of GDP, according to the GSMA’s Mobile Economy Africa 2026 report. The sector also supported approximately 13 million jobs and generated $45 billion in public revenues, underlining the growing role of mobile connectivity in powering economic growth, innovation and digital transformation across the continent. 

The report finds that Africa’s mobile industry is entering a new phase of development. Having spent the last decade expanding connectivity, operators are increasingly focused on unlocking the full value of digital networks for consumers, businesses and governments. Across the continent, operators are evolving beyond their traditional role as connectivity providers to become digital transformation partners, deploying artificial intelligence (AI), expanding digital services and opening network capabilities to developers through standardised APIs. According to GSMA Intelligence research, 79% of operators in Africa identify becoming a digital transformation partner as a primary enterprise objective. 

By 2030, mobile technologies and services are expected to contribute $290 billion to Africa’s economy as digital adoption deepens and connectivity continues to support productivity, innovation and economic development across the region. Today Africa’s digital challenge has shifted from expanding network coverage to ensuring people, businesses and governments can fully benefit from the connectivity already in place.

BERLIN, June 16, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — NUVIEW GmbH today announced that its Moonraker mission has been selected by the European Space Agency (ESA) for a Phase A study under ESA’s Small Missions for Exploration – Destination the Moon program. NUVIEW serves as prime contractor and leads an international consortium advancing space-based LiDAR for lunar terrain mapping. 

Moonraker will deploy a LiDAR-equipped spacecraft into lunar orbit to generate high-resolution, three-dimensional elevation data of the Moon’s polar regions and other priority areas. The resulting terrain models will support landing site identification, hazard assessment, and surface planning for future robotic and human missions. 

“Moonraker is a direct extension of our commercial LiDAR architecture into lunar orbit,” said Katie Graumann, CEO of NUVIEW Germany. “By adapting the systems we are deploying for Earth observation, we can provide reliable, mission-critical terrain data that helps reduce risk for future lunar landings and surface operations.” 

The mission will focus on the lunar South Pole and other select areas of interest, including permanently shadowed regions, where accurate terrain data is critical for evaluating potential landing sites and supporting future exploration and resource utilization activities. LiDAR data collected by Moonraker will be downlinked directly to Earth and processed into three-dimensional Digital Elevation Models to support mission planning and analysis.

L’evento, una corsa-camminata non competitiva aperta a runner, sportivi amatoriali, famiglie e appassionati, ha rappresentato un importante momento di incontro tra sport e solidarietà, con l’obiettivo di sostenere Casa LILT Monza e le attività di prevenzione oncologica sul territorio. The result is less residue, reduced nozzle buildup, and more consistent extrusion spool after spool. 

All printing parameters are stored in the RFID tag and automatically read by the AMS system. Load the spool, let the material synchronize itself, and start printing. No guesswork required. 

Toy Safety 

The material has also passed EN 71-3 certification, the European safety standard that governs the migration of certain elements from toy materials. The standard’s main concern is whether potentially harmful elements-such as lead, cadmium, chromium, and other heavy metals-can leach out of a material when a child handles, mouths, or swallows it. It also sets strict limits on the permissible migration of each. 

Passing this test makes the material suitable for models meant to be handled and played with: a toy kitchen plate, a small car, a cat toy. 

As with any 3D-printed toy, common sense still applies. Small parts and support structures can pose a choking hazard, edges may be sharp, and the material is combustible. Models should be selected appropriately, and children should be supervised during play. 

A Note on Application 

These certifications apply to the filament itself and its ingredients. Whether a specific printed object is suitable for a particular application depends on factors such as equipment hygiene (especially nozzle cleanliness), printing conditions, and how the object is ultimately used. Because of the layered structure of FFF prints, they are not suitable for liquid foods, and PLA itself should not be exposed to temperatures above 60°C (like putting 3D prints into dishwashers). Bambu Lab recommends that users consider these factors when selecting a material for a specific application.
